BAKED APPLE BITES

IMG_6186.jpg

These baked apple bites are a staple in our fridge the moment fall hits, but if we're being honest, they're pretty much there all year round! We love to eat them as a topping for our breakfast parfaits, as a snack with yogurt or cottage cheese, or instead of jam with almond butter on toast or crackers. You can even eat them on their own as an after-dinner treat!

The best part is, they are super easy to make, have zero added sugar, and will leave your kitchen smelling like freshly made apple pie. You are definitely going to want to give these a try!

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • 2 honeycrisp apples, diced into 1/2 inch pieces

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place apple pieces on parchment.

  3. Sprinkle apple pieces with cinnamon and nutmeg.

  4. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour (depending on your oven), flipping halfway through to ensure even baking.

  5. You’ll know the apple bites are ready when they are fork-tender and your kitchen smells like apple pie!

4Q Journaling Guide: This recipe yields 2 servings of fruit, so half would count as your fruit for your breakfast, snack, or after-dinner treat.
